AHIP Conference

At the national conference for America’s Health Insurance Plans, Providence Health Plan launched “Health For All” — an outreach dedicated to raising awareness for healthcare access, equity and innovation. At AHIP, the Health For All activation was an immersive experience that put the community first by implementing a boots-on-the-ground approach to accessible care. Aside from being one of the most popular stops at the conference, it demonstrated the various ways Providence Health Plan serves their community in real life.

The Goal

The big idea was to inspire the health insurance community by showcasing Providence Health Plan’s holistic approach to healthcare. In doing so, we needed to create an experience at the AHIP 3-day conference that would be a show stopper, and set Providence Health plan apart among the influential national audience of industry leaders.

Creative
Development

Alongside our creative director and copywriter, we started brainstorming themes, followed by activation opportunities.

After exploring multiple ways in, including a mobile care unit and a whole health farmer’s market, we found that the best way to serve the community (including the attendees at the conference) was to feature Providence Health Plan’s community partners who are actively providing holistic health to vulnerable populations.

Experiential Design

We created a modular booth design that was flexible enough to support a variety of partner activations, such as a cooking demo, Tai Chi classes, and massages, plus a Health For All wall where attendees could write what Health For All means to them.

Participation Donations

We were able to educate and engage attendees with fun, hands-on experiences. Each time an attendee participated in an activity, they were given a $50 token to put in the Health For All tank as a donation that Providence Health Plan would make in support of the community partners.

The Hype

Our team built out the pre and post event excitement with billboards, transit wraps, airport signage, and television coverage. As lead designer, I set the overall creative direction for this project and had my hands in most of the deliverables, including the microsite design, social, digital, all the way through to helping with the booth setup and providing support at the conference.

The Results

After the three day event, the Providence Health Plan team left feeling invigorated with a renewed sense of purpose and pride in what they do. Attendees flocked the booth and Providence Health Plan donated $390,000 to their community partners.
